Is ShortMax Free? How Much You Can Watch Without Paying
Short answer
ShortMax is free to install and contains ads, but no official page says how many episodes are free or how to earn coins. Assume a short free sample, then a paywall that leads to a weekly pass.
ShortMax costs nothing to download, but the official pages are unusually quiet about what is free after that. They never state how many episodes you get, which matters more than the headline.
What ShortMax charges
| Item | Price | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Weekly Pass Pro | $19.99 (also $9.99 variant) | week, renews automatically |
US prices from the official listings, checked 13 Oct 2026. Stores change prices by country and over time.
What the official pages say is free
Both the App Store and Google Play describe the app as free to download, and both flag that it contains advertising. Google Play also notes in-app purchases. That is the extent of the official wording.
Nothing on the store listings, the website, the terms or the privacy policy gives a number of free episodes, a daily bonus, a check-in reward or an ad-for-coins exchange. Where other apps in this category describe such perks, ShortMax's pages do not, and we will not guess on their behalf. If that changes, this page will be updated with the new wording and the date we read it.
What to expect in practice
Our rule is to write only what the official pages support, so we cannot tell you how far a series runs before it locks. Open a title and note where the paywall appears. That tells you more than any list.
Expect the lock to arrive at a cliffhanger, because that is how the category works, and expect the unlock prompt to feature the weekly pass first. Closing the prompt without buying is always possible.
Staying free without getting charged
Watch what is open, then stop. Do not start a trial or accept an introductory offer you do not intend to keep, since the weekly pass renews on its own and the terms and privacy policy publish no refund steps.
If you tap purchase by mistake, go to your Apple or Google subscription list straight away and cancel. The pass normally stays active to the end of the week you paid for, so waiting gains you nothing. Our ShortMax cancel page has the steps.
Legal ways to see more
Stay with the official app and its listings. Sites that promise unlocked episodes, free coins or a modified version are not connected to ShortMax, break its terms and can carry malware or collect your login.
If you want a more generous sample, compare other apps on this site: some publish clearer free-episode counts and reward systems. Use the comparison table to see what each one says.
