NetShort is a Singapore-run vertical drama app with high store scores and a weekly VIP that comes at several price levels. It is easy to start and a little opaque when it comes to what an episode costs.

Our verdict in one line

NetShort looks like a legitimate, well-rated app. The weekly VIP is sold at several price tiers, the free allowance and coin costs are not published, and refunds are limited to cases where the service is unusable.

What NetShort is and who runs it

NetShort streams vertical short dramas: romance, billionaire and CEO stories, werewolves, revenge, time travel and mystery. The App Store lists seventeen languages and calls the lineup exclusive short drama video.

The operator is Netstory Pte. Ltd., registered in Singapore. The terms give one registered office, and Google Play shows a different Singapore address, so you will see two addresses depending on where you look.

What you can watch

The catalog follows the genre playbook: a heroine wronged in episode one, a powerful man with a secret, and a reversal near the finish. The store notes say a gold coin feature exists. The official pages do not say whether the shows are original or licensed, and nothing mentions AI-made series.

Age signals clash. The terms say the service is for adults only, yet the App Store gives it a 13+ rating, listing mature themes and sexual content among its descriptors, and Google Play uses a lower tier. Keep younger users away.

How paying works

The headline product is a weekly VIP, listed on the App Store at three different price levels. The store describes VIP as ad-free viewing where available, HD, offline downloads and extra episodes in selected series. Each price tier renews every week until stopped, so the tier you tap matters more than the app's name on the receipt. Two buyers of the same VIP can pay quite different amounts.

There are also three one-time purchases, which the listing does not call coins. The official pages give no coin table and no price per episode, so you cannot work out what finishing a series would cost before you spend.

Free options

The app is free to download, shows ads, and says some content needs VIP or an in-app purchase. The Google Play update notes mention earning more coins, which hints at a reward system, but its rules are not spelled out.

The official pages are silent on the free episode count. The practical answer is to open one series, count for yourself, and see where the gate falls. A series you abandon at the gate has cost you nothing but a few ads.

Cancelling and refunds in brief

Apple subscriptions are cancelled in Settings under your Apple ID. The recharge agreement also describes cancelling from the Me page in the app, with benefits continuing until the end of the billing cycle. No website subscription is mentioned.

The same agreement says a completed recharge is final and virtual products cannot be returned, except where the service is unusable. Refund requests are reviewed through Me, then Contact Us, with a stated response time of one day.

Privacy and trust

The App Store label declares tracking across outside apps and websites, using identifiers and usage data, and the policy mentions advertising identifiers and social sign-in through TikTok, Facebook, Apple or Google. The policy also says users under 18 are not knowingly allowed.

Google Play lists possible sharing of location and personal info, and you can ask for data deletion through the contacts in the policy. The privacy policy was last updated in September 2024, so check the date again before relying on it. Declining optional permissions on your phone limits what the app can collect.

Worth it for

  • High scores on both app stores with very large rating counts
  • Recharge agreement spells out in-app cancellation and refund contact
  • Operator is a named Singapore company with listed addresses
  • Free to download with ads

Watch out for

  • Weekly VIP offered at several price levels, which is confusing
  • Coin value and free episode count are not published
  • Completed recharges are generally non-refundable
  • Adults-only terms but a lower store age rating

Bottom line

6.9/10

NetShort is a decent, fast-moving app with unusually clear refund and contact rules in its recharge agreement, but the weekly VIP tiers and missing coin prices make spending hard to judge. Try the free access first, check the weekly price on the purchase sheet, and set a cancellation reminder before you pay.

Questions people ask

Is NetShort worth it?

For casual watching with ads, yes. The weekly VIP is expensive across a year, and the official pages never show what coins cost, so spend only after testing the free allowance.

Is NetShort safe?

The official pages show a named Singapore operator and standard store billing. The cautions are ad tracking, the weekly renewal and the gap between its adults-only terms and its store ratings.

Who owns NetShort?

Netstory Pte. Ltd., registered in Singapore, according to the terms of service. Google Play lists a second Singapore address.

Does NetShort make AI series?

Nothing on the official pages we read says so. The store text only calls the lineup exclusive short drama video.
