How to Cancel Your GoodShort Subscription

Short answer

To cancel GoodShort, turn off renewal in Apple or Google subscriptions well before the week closes, or switch off Renew on the website if you subscribed there. Deleting the app does not cancel, and refunds are discretionary.

Get GoodShort

GoodShort VIP is billed weekly and renews by itself. You stop it in the store you paid through, or on the GoodShort website if you subscribed there, and removing the app changes nothing.

On iPhone

  1. Open Settings and tap your name, then Subscriptions.
  2. Find GoodShort in the list.
  3. Tap Cancel Subscription and confirm.
  4. Allow a full day of margin, because the App Store says renewal is charged inside the last 24 hours before expiry.
  5. Recheck the subscription screen for an expiry date.

On Android

  1. Open the Google Play Store and tap your profile picture.
  2. Choose Payments and subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
  3. Select GoodShort.
  4. Tap Cancel subscription and complete the prompts.
  5. Make this change early; the Play listing says renewal carries on unless you switch it off a day or more ahead.

If you paid on the website

  1. Sign in to the GoodShort website with your account.
  2. Open your subscription page, as described in the Terms of Use.
  3. Switch off the Renew option.
  4. Check that the page shows renewal as off.
  5. If you cannot find the page, use My, then Contact Customer Service in the app to ask support.

The terms do not give the exact address of the subscription page, so look for it in your account area.

Why the charge keeps coming

The store plans for VIP are billed weekly and renew automatically in several tiers. Because each period is only a week, a missed cancellation costs you quickly. The Terms of Use also describe a month-to-month renewal, which does not match the weekly store plans, so trust the date on your own subscription screen.

If you have both an app subscription and a website one, they are separate and each needs its own cancellation.

Removing the app leaves VIP running

Uninstalling GoodShort leaves any subscription in place. The terms let you delete your account and lose access, but nothing says deletion cancels a subscription. Third-party store subscriptions must be ended through that store, according to the terms.

Cancel first and delete later. The terms also state that you get no partial refund or credit for ending a billing cycle early, so there is no reason to rush the deletion.

GoodShort refund rules

The terms treat payments as final apart from the cases they list, and GoodShort may at its own discretion offer a refund, discount or credit. Unsubscribing keeps your access running to the close of the cycle you have paid for.

If you paid through a store, Apple or Google will take a refund request too and decide it under their own policies. Ask quickly and explain what happened in plain words. Chargebacks through your card issuer are a last resort for unauthorized charges.

Coins and VIP after cancelling

VIP benefits, such as ad-free viewing and downloads, last until the paid period ends. Coins are a separate purchase, and no official page describes what happens to them after a subscription ends or an account closes, so spend what you hold before deleting an account.

The website advertises extra value on top-ups compared with the app, but buying coins in either place does not extend or restart VIP.
